Rise: Within an adsorption-synchronized phage population, this is the span over which infection lysis occurs.

Discussion

<p>Rise by contrast should never be used as a synonym for the post-eclipse or maturation period. Given this potential for confusion, however, it is helpful to always define the term "rise" when using it, e.g., "The period over which phage lysis occurs, known as the rise or rise period…"
